Rosamund Pike

Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of Caroline (Friend) Pike, mother of a classical violinist, as well as Julian Pike, an opera singer dad. They worked hard for their families and she traveled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike went to Badminton School in Bristol, England and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 years old when she was cast in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then recognized by an agent and signed. Her first film was a huge-budget action thriller. But her subsequent film work was mostly in independent films like Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). For which she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award in The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) included Pike in the role of one of the Bennet girls. Following the action movie, Doom (2006) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007), Pike made a brief foray into Hollywood film. In the end, she returned to smaller-scale films with extraordinary performances in three films: An Education (2008) Then, she starred in Made in Dagenham (2010) as well as the leading role with Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010). In 2012, Pike portrayed the role of Andromeda in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). With Tom Cruise as her female leading character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action films.
